Swedish Massage/Relaxation Therapy-
The focus is on calm, flowing movement to achieve relaxation and reduce stress. This may include energy work, acupressure, or reflexology.
Therapeutic Massage/Medical Massage-The focus is on muscles that may have contractures, trigger points (knots that refer pain), & tender points; decrease pain, relax tight muscles, increase range of motion. This may involve static stretches, heat or cryotherapy, and include various modalities such as Deep Tissue Therapy,Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques, Strain/Counterstrain, Positional Release Techniques, and Myofascial Release Therapy. This is helpful for conditions that occur from trauma, stroke, or other medical diagnoses.
Sports Massage- The focus is on recovery of athletics, but variations in pressure, stretches, and technique can also be utilized for pre-event preparation. Massage is often utilized for maintenance to prevent injury and alleviate muscle tension, soreness, and inflammation.
TMJ Massage-The focus is on tight muscles inside the mouth and surrounding the jaw that may be radiating pain from bruxism, jaw clenching, or other temporomandibular joint dysfunctions; relax the jaw muscles, reduce headaches or migraines
Cupping Massage-This type of therapy is regaining popularity from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda practices. It involves the use of specialized glass, silicone, and/or acrylic cups to create Negative Pressure. This type of therapy helps remove stagnant blood, removes lymph, and improves circulation, cutaneous respiration, and nutritional supply to the tissues. Additionally cupping can stimulate and effect the skin, muscles, circulatory system, digestive system, joints, fascia, and the nervous system. Cupping can be used to improve mood, reduce stress, to address orthopedic and sports injuries/conditions, and aid the lymphatic system with recovery from illness.
Chair Massage-This type of therapy is perfect for someone on the go! The client will remain clothed and will be positioned in a specialized chair. The focus is primarily on the head, neck, shoulders, back, and hands.
